Travel advisories
Guests travelling to Mexico
 
The Government of Mexico requires that all passports presented upon arrival and departure be in good condition. Passports with rips or tears will not be accepted. Please ensure your passport is free of damage to the cover, inside pages or edges.
 
Guests travelling to Bermuda
 
All Canadian guests, including children of all ages, travelling to Bermuda are now required to present a passport for entry.
 
Guests travelling to Cuba
 
The Government of Cuba requires that all guests entering Cuba will be required to hold s valid passport and  medical travel insurance covering their period of stay within Cuba. If medical travel insurance is not obtained in advance, it may be purchased on arrival at the airport in Cuba.

Guests travelling to Cuba are responsible to ensure they meet all entry requirements, as entry will be denied without appropriate documentation and medical travel insurance. WestJet and WestJet Vacations are not responsible for denied entry or associated costs incurred.
 
Guests travelling to the Bahamas
 
For entry into the Bahamas, all Canadian citizens are required to have a return ticket and a valid passport for the full duration of their intended stay.
 
Guests travelling to and from the U.S.
 
All guests are required to have a valid passport
 
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires guests to provide their full name, date of birth, and gender for the purpose of watch list screening, under the authority of 49 U.S.C. section 114, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 and 49 C.F.R parts 1540 and 1560. You may also provide your Redress Number, if available. Failure to provide a full name, date of birth, and gender may result in denial of transport or denial of authority to enter the boarding area. TSA may share information you provide with law enforcement or intelligence agencies or others under its published system of records notice. Children and Travel
 
Documentation
 
Canadian children need appropriate documentation to travel abroad, including the following:
 
Canadian passport
Consent letter confirming that the child has permission to travel abroad (e.g. when taking a trip alone or with only one parent).
Supporting identification, such as a birth certificate or citizenship card.
Other legal documents, such as divorce papers, custody court orders or a death certificate (if one parent is deceased).

Security screening

 
We want you to get through security as quickly as possible. Have a look at the following, so your trip through will be smooth and easy.
 
Checked baggage containing items that are prohibited onboard an aircraft may be opened by authorized security screeners for further inspection.
 
If further inspection is required, guests departing a Canadian airport may be contacted by security to be present during the inspection of their baggage. Guests departing a U.S. airport will not be contacted.
 
Reviewing restricted items will help in expediting the checked baggage screening process and will minimize the potential that you or your baggage will be delayed.
 
 Transport Canada pre-board security screening for carry-on baggage
 
Permitted carry-on items: Liquids, gels or aerosols in containers 100 ml/90 g (3.4 oz.) or less. These containers MUST be placed in one (1) clear, closed and resealable plastic bag no larger than one litre (one quart). One plastic bag is permitted per guest.
 
Prohibited: Unsealed, open or opaque plastic bags of any size with liquids, gels or aerosols in containers of any size. Liquids, gels or aerosols in containers larger than 100 ml/90 g (3.4 oz.).
 
Items exempt from restrictions (these items must be declared to security screeners): Baby formula, baby food, and milk for guests travelling with children two years of age and under, and prescription and essential non-prescription medicines. These items do not require a plastic bag, but may require additional screening.

Passengers are not permitted to transport printer or toner cartridges in checked bags on any flights departing from Canadian airports if those cartridges weigh 500 grams (17.6 ounces) or more. These large, office-size toner cartridges are between 20 cm and 30 cm in length (8 to 12 inches respectively, or approximately the size of a loaf of bread). Smaller toner cartridges, such as those typically used in home printers, are still permitted.
Passengers on outbound flights from Canada to the United States are not permitted to travel with cartridges in carry-on bags.
 
Security screening

Customers are strongly encouraged to review and understand this information, and inform themselves of the terms and conditions governing their contract with a Tour Operator/Airline. You will be responsible for reconfirming with the Airline 24 hours prior to departure and on the day of departure. Failure to contact the airline in regards to reconfirming the airline times and details may result in a flight being missed. www.moosetravel.ca does not accept legal responsibility or liability for your dissatisfaction or complaints with the product or services provided by Tour Operators/Airlines.
 
INSURANCE POLICY:
As per the invoice, if charges for an Insurance Policy is not listed or an Insurance Policy Number is not noted, you have elected to DECLINE travel insurance. If you would like to purchase some peace of mind for a low cost, please feel free to contact your agent directly for further information.
 
PASSENGERS TRAVELLING TO THE USA:
Effective May 1, 2006 the information required was expanded to include the full address of where passengers will stay while in the United States as well as their full passport name, birthdate and gender. This information must be collected at time of check-in at the airport prior to departure. Passengers should be advised to bring all pertinent documentation with them to the airport to ensure efficient process at check-in. Passengers staying at a hotel or private residence: Complete address including street name and number, city and zip code is required.
Exemptions:
U.S. Citizens, Legal Permanent Residents, and Transit Passengers are not required to submit this information.
 
SPECIAL REQUESTS:
Special Requests, for example, room allocation, adjoining rooms, bed preferences, in-flight meal requirements, in-flight seating requirements, etc., cannot be guaranteed by the TOUR OPERATOR/AIRLINE. While the Tour Operator/Airline will attempt to accommodate such special requests, the Tour Operator/Airline cannot be held responsible if such special requests cannot be fulfilled.
 
BAGGAGE:
Each person is entitled to two normal sized pieces of checked luggage. Weight restrictions vary between 10 and 20 kilos per person, consult your airline prior to departure. UNLESS INSURED, ALL BAGGAGE REMAINS AT THE OWNER'S RISK THROUGHOUT THE TRIP.
 
CANCELLATIONS, CHANGES AND REFUNDS:
No refund is made for unused travel services or any portion thereof, nor is the price or value of unused travel services exchangeable for alternative arrangements. Changes to the current booking is subject to the TERMS AND CONDITIONS as per the TOUR OPERATOR/AIRLINE and as stipulated in the brochure or Airline websites. You are encouraged to purchase the appropriate travel coverage. All online purchase, once confirmed are 100% Non-Refundable/Non-Changeable.
 
AIRPORT CHECK IN, RECONFIRMATION:
Seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. All passengers should arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to flight departure. Check-in opens at least 3 hours prior to the flight and closes 1 hour prior to departure. For security reasons, all passengers must be present for check-in. You will not be allowed to board, nor will you be entitled to refund, if you have not checked in by that time. Please ensure you contact your airline at least 24 hours prior to departure and on the day of departure, it will be your responsibility to reconfirm all your flight details before departure. If www.moosetravel.ca is aware of a change, every effort will be made to advise you directly.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
DOCUMENTATION:
It is the passenger's responsibility to obtain, at their own expense, all documentation required by all relevant government authorities, and this may vary depending on citizenship status. Special documentation may be required for minors travelling alone or for children who carry a different surname than their travelling companions and for single parents travelling with children. It is strongly recommended that prior to departure, the passenger ascertains the documentation required. In the event that the passenger does not possess the documentation required by the destination, transit or the carrier, the carrier reserves the right to refuse passage. If you are Cuban Born, travelling into Cuba, please ensure you are informed of all regulations in regards to points of entry into CUBA. www.moosetravel.ca is not responsible for missed documentation and for additional expenses occurred in obtaining these documents.
 
CANADIAN and NON CANADIAN:
Canadian Citizens and Residents of Canada of other nationalities such as landed immigrants are responsible for being in possession of their required travel documents, a valid passport. A visa may also be required. For additional requirements, please refer to the Canadian Consular Affairs Website detailing all requirements in regards ENTRY/EXIT Requirements, TRAVEL TIPS, LOCAL HEALTH INFORMATION and GENERAL INFORMATION.
 
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL CANADIAN CITIZENS TO OBTAIN THEIR PASSPORTS .
All countries will require passports for identification purposes and upon re-entry into Canada. (All children should have their own passports as well)
